IRATI STILL

8th century, the Pyrenees. Young Eneko is ready to take the place of the leader of the valley, inherited from his father who has fallen in battle years ago. But when his father’s body disappears from the grave, he will need to enlist the help of young pagan woman Irati to recover it.

After winning the feature film competition at Grossmann 2018 with dark fairy tale Errementari, Basque filmmaker Paul Urkijo Alijo is back with an even more flamboyant epic, the most ambitious Spanish film in recent years and the first ever Spanish “sword and sorcery” film. Due to its extraordinary blend of mythology and history, and spectacular battle scenes, some have dubbed it “the Spanish Lord of the Rings”. Mandatory viewing!
