Spy thriller The Hunt for Red October, based on Tom Clancy’s bestseller, is another John McTiernan’s blockbuster and the first installment of the film series featuring protagonist Jack Ryan. McTiernan masterfully used the claustrophobic environment of a submarine, while the film also boasts some amazing, never-before-seen special effects. The final touch is provided by a stellar cast, led by Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin and Scott Glenn.
