They Are Watching

A man who can’t cope with his mother’s death makes an unusual deal with a mysterious clinic. A woman who adopts a cat for her daughter discovers that something supernatural came along with it. A couple makes a wish that their cat would turn into a human child. Three stories about people who gaze into the darkness, only to find that the darkness gazes back at them.

Anthology, a quite popular format in horror cinema, usually features segments by different authors. They Are Watching is a rare exception, since all three stories were created by writer Soroosh Roohbakhsh and director Iman Tahsin. With a measured pace, they create an eerie atmosphere, while also providing an unhealthy dose of gallows humour. Just don’t be surprised if after the viewing you’ll get a sudden feeling that someone (something?) is watching you from the dark.
