Tomaž, a twelve-years old boy, is going through his last boyhood summer. Apart from Luka, an old man who use to navigate the sea, there is no adult who would understand his problems. Luka gives him a shell. When listening to it, Tomaž will keep his memories of the summer, his first love, first touch, and his summertime friends. In one single summer Tomaž grows up from a boy into a man.
A genuine summer hit of the 80s that is forever engraved in the hearts of many generations. It was the most viewed Slovenian film in the year it was released, and it was followed by a sequel A summer in a Seashell 2 in 1988. As in American film Electric Dreams, which was very popular at the time, a computer plays an important part in the plot and is “portrayed” by Iskra Delta’s Triglav.
