Fabrice du Welz

Belgian genre auteur Fabrice du Welz is one of the most important, interesting and distinctive contemporary European filmmakers. Already with his bizarre backwoods horror debut Calvaire (2004), he amazed audiences and critics alike. This was followed by masterpieces such as atmospheric horror Vinyan (2008), the “lonely hearts killers” adaptation Alleluia (2014), horrific coming-of-age story Adoration (2019) and psychological thriller Inexorable (2021), also screened at Grossmann 2022. After he first visited Slovenia at the 2018 Kurja Polt Festival in Ljubljana, we proudly announce his arrival to this year’s Grossmann!
