Alojz Filipič

Alojz Filipič started his professional career with internship at the largest European winery in Breisach, Germany, followed by further training in United Kingdom and France. From 1973, he was an oenologist at the Gornja Radgona winery. With his knowledge, he helped to establish the prestigious reputation of wines and sparkling wines from Radgona. In 1996 in Vienna, he was induced into L'orde des coteaux de Champagne, based in Rheims, France. In the mid-1970s, he had a profound influence on establishing the Slovenian term »penina« for Slovenian champagne. He was a judge in numerous international wine evaluation committees from Ljubljana to Montreal.
